TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR INTERNATIONALIZATION STRATEGY!

If you’ve been disappointed by internationalization consultants in the past—those who failed to achieve your desired results or left your company unchanged after completing their work—it’s because you don’t need consultancy. You need a METHOD!

ChannelMarketing’s consultancy, built around the GOABROAD© Method, not only guides you in developing and implementing an internationalization project step by step but also equips you with the methodology and operational tools to take control of your internationalization strategy—FOREVER.

WHAT DOES GOABROAD MEAN?

For anyone involved in internationalization, GOABROAD is an easy-to-remember term because it literally means “go abroad.” This encapsulates the method’s purpose: helping you expand into international markets.

But ABROAD also serves as an acronym, representing the six phases that make up the method. By remembering the word ABROAD, you’ll always have the key steps of the internationalization process in mind.

THE PHASES OF THE GOABROAD© METHOD

ASSESS YOUR COMPANY’S ORGANIZATION

Before developing an internationalization strategy, your company must evaluate whether its organizational structure can support such efforts. This requires a thorough assessment of your resources—people, skills, products, processes, and financial assets. Identifying weak points and addressing them is essential for successfully embarking on the path to internationalization.

BUILD MARKET KNOWLEDGE

In this phase, you systematically gather and update the data and information needed to assess foreign markets. This is critical for progressing through the subsequent phases of the GOABROAD Method.

The method emphasizes systematic data collection and provides specialized tools to collect, process, and analyze market data for all countries of potential interest.

RANK PRIORITY MARKETS

This phase involves identifying the most promising markets from those analyzed in the previous step.
GOABROAD employs proprietary software to rank markets based on selected indicators, creating a prioritized list of the most attractive opportunities for your company.

OPT FOR AN ENTRY STRATEGY

In this phase, you determine the best approach for entering new markets or expanding in existing ones.
This decision bridges the analytical and strategic phases of the internationalization process and has a significant impact on your overall strategy.
GOABROAD utilizes a proprietary model developed by ChannelMarketing to ensure data-driven decisions rather than subjective opinions.

ARRANGE A BUSINESS PLAN

Writing down your internationalization strategy is crucial. This phase involves defining medium-term objectives, investment plans, and translating them into actionable responsibilities.
The GOABROAD Method provides structured steps and templates to create the four components of a comprehensive business plan:

  • Marketing Plan
  • Organizational Plan
  • Operations Plan
  • Financial Plan

DEVELOP THE DISTRIBUTION NETWORK

For small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), managing distribution channels is a vital component of expanding into international markets.

A key focus is the development of the distributor network, which is often the primary channel for delivering products to end users. The GOABROAD Method uses the GrowTheNet© model, a structured process with tools to analyze, qualify, and develop distributor networks.

HOW A GOABROAD PROJECT IS CARRIED OUT

WHAT IT IS

A GOABROAD project offers personalized, hands-on consultancy with Pierantonio Gallu, combining in- person meetings and web calls.

WHAT DOES THE COMPANY GET?

At the conclusion of a GOABROAD project, your company will have:

  • A complete business plan outlining your medium-term (3-year) internationalization strategy.
  • A detailed operational plan for short-term actions (1 year).
  • Customized tools from the GOABROAD Method to execute your plan and support future internationalization efforts.

HOW DOES IT START?

The process begins with an initial call or meeting to evaluate the feasibility of the project. Once both parties agree to proceed, a customized work plan is created following the phases of the GOABROAD© Method. This plan is summarized in a GANTT chart, clearly outlining activities, timelines, responsibilities, and required investments.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The project alternates between:

  • Weekly in-person meetings (half-day sessions).
  • Web call meetings (1.5–2 hours).
Additionally, participants can interact with the consultancy team whenever necessary.

WHO PARTICIPATES

On the ChannelMarketing side, consultancy is personally led by Pierantonio Gallu, supported by collaborators if needed. On the client side, participants may include the entrepreneur, managers, and key personnel involved in the internationalization process.

HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?

The duration of the project varies based on the company’s situation and needs, typically lasting between 4 to 8 months.
